WHAT IS A SOPHIA, ANYWAYS?

A Sophia is a strange creature that thrives off of black coffee and learning new things.

Sophia is a human that has a lot of interests and hobbies. She is absolutely in love with anything STEM related and spends a good fraction of her time dreaming about the future. Which is funny, because she never seems to get much sleep. But, hey, daydreams are wonderful things that a coffee addiction can't stop!

WHAT DOES THE SOPHIA DO?

Sophia is a maker, a hacker, and a dreamer that wants to create things that will make the world a better place.

But, first, she sort of has to survive high school.

For right now, the Sophia loves to build robots, come up with new ideas for "cutting edge technologies", and learn as much as she can about STEM, medicine, etc. She really wants to learn anything and everything because she's been lucky enough to have amazing mentors that encourage a love of learning. She spends a lot of time building things and, if you look below, you can see some of her recent projects.

The Sophia is interested in becoming a Biomedical Engineer and Pathologist in the future (M.D. Ph.D. so that she can do research). She wants to create a biomedical technologies startup one day that works partially on research for curing diseases and partially on technologies that implement that research. Particular interests also include 3D printing tissues & organs, bionic prosthetics, and robots in healthcare. She also wants to work on redesigning hospitals so that they take advantage of new technologies and she wants to focus a lot more on patient care/quality of life. (Ever been in a hospital? They are way more depressing than they need to be. Hopefully we can change that in the future!)
